Loops Esports, Alpha 7 Esports, and Stalwart Esports qualify for PMGC Grand Finals – 2023 PMGC League Group Green Results

This weekend, an exciting Week One of the 2023 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC) League took place with its first Group Stage, Group Green. Going through to the next stage of the competition and securing a spot in the PMGC Grand Finals in Istanbul, Türkiye are Loops Esports, Alpha 7 Esports, and Stalwart Esports.
Group Green delivered a high-octane start to the tournament, with Stalwart Esports winning an incredible three Chicken Dinners on the first day and finishing up with 198 points in third place. With an outstanding performance that included 38 eliminations, Stalwart player Top was named group green MVP. Brazilian powerhouses Loops Esports and Alpha 7, on the other hand, continued to rack up some impressive eliminations over the four days of play, taking first and second place respectively with 220 and 204 points. These three teams are now automatic qualifiers for the PMGC Grand Finals in December.
All eyes were on the rest of the leaderboard however, as teams placing outside the top 11 were knocked out of the competition. This means the PMGC is saying goodbye to Tianba, Team Falcons, BRA Esports, AGi8 Esports and XERXIA Esports, despite some great plays.
Eight teams now face a considerable challenge ahead of them in the Survival Stage, including Reject Esports, who just missed out on a qualifying spot, and Gladiators, who just about fought to remain in the competition.
Loops Esports, Alpha 7 Esports, and Stalwart Esports are now one step closer to becoming the PUBG MOBILE World Champion at the PMGC Grand Finals on 8th-10th December, for a share of the $3 million prize pool. They will go against the qualifying teams from other groups, plus those who progress beyond the PMGC Survival and PMGC Last Chance stages.
Coming up next is Week Two of the PMGC League where Group Red’s 16 teams, including FaZe Clan and Nigma Galaxy, will face off to find the strongest three. The following Week Three will see Group Yellow’s teams including Vampire Esports, Bigetron Red Villains, and DRS GAMING compete to round out the first stage of the 2023 PMGC.

Global Esports Federation Reveals Season 4 of Global Esports Tour from Rio De Janeiro

The Global Esports Federation’s pro-series – Global Esports Tour (GET) – will kick off its next season in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in April 2024. Staged by the Brazilian Confederation of Games and Esports (CBGE) and strongly supported by Brazil’s National, State and Local partners. The event promises intense competition and a boost for economic and tourism development in the vibrant city.
GET Rio 2024, the first stage of a multi-year Global Esports Tour slated for Brazil from 2024 to 2026, is set to feature the Counter-Strike 2 championship with eight Open teams and four Women’s teams, competing for the coveted prize bank of $200,000. Beyond intense gaming action, the Rio Free Fire Cup (JEDIS), cosplay performance, conference panels, art and urban culture will enhance this innovative event.
“With the selection of Rio de Janeiro as the launch site for the Global Esports Tour 2024, we are embracing the passion and commitment of the Brazilian esports community. This marks a pivotal moment in elevating Brazil’s position in the world of esports. As we expand our global GET portfolio, we are proud to appoint GEF’s Director of Programs and Content, Eric F. Brinkley, as our first GET Commissioner,” Paul J. Foster, CEO of GEF, said.
