Esportes Gaming Brasil wins IIA Brazil seal for internal audit awareness campaign

Esportes Gaming Brasil (EGB), the group behind the Esportes da Sorte, Onabet and Lottu brands, has received recognition in the IIA May Brazil campaign run by the Institute of Internal Auditors of Brazil (IIA Brazil). The company said it is the first iGaming business to be recognised in the programme. The award was presented on 23 July, with EGB receiving the IIA May Brazil 2026 Winning Company seal, plus a trophy and certificate.

IIA May Brazil is tied to International Internal Audit Awareness Month and is designed to raise understanding of the internal audit function, including its role in governance, risk management, internal controls and decision-making. EGB said it was recognised alongside about 100 organisations in 2026, including Petrobras, Banco Bradesco, Grupo Mateus and Vale, as well as companies within the Caixa ecosystem.

Carol Luna, Head of Compliance at Esportes Gaming Brasil, said: “Being the first iGaming company recognised in the IIA May Brazil campaign is a significant milestone for both our group and the wider industry. Regulation has ushered in a new era of professionalism, where growth, innovation and efficiency must go hand in hand with strong governance, integrity and the ability to anticipate risk.”

To qualify, organisations had to publish at least four pieces of original content on official social channels and deliver at least two initiatives such as webinars, presentations or training sessions, with evidence submitted to IIA Brazil for evaluation. EGB said its activities included educational videos on internal audit, a myth-busting content series, updates on building its internal audit function, an “Audit EGB Webinar” broadcast to employees, and an in-person training programme for teams across the second and third lines of defence.

Luna added: “Our goal was to bring Internal Audit closer to our people and demonstrate that the function is not isolated or focused solely on identifying non-compliance. It is a strategic partner that transforms information into meaningful insights, drives continuous improvement and helps the business build more efficient processes and stronger controls.” The company said the awards ceremony followed the 2026 Chief Audit Executives (CAE) Meeting attended by internal audit leaders from across Brazil.
