ECIJA and H2 Gambling Capital set June 30 webinar on prediction betting in Spain
ECIJA and H2 Gambling Capital will host a webinar on Tuesday, June 30 at 15:30 CET titled “Licensed prediction betting in Spain?”, focusing on whether prediction betting can be legally organized under existing Spanish iGaming licenses.
The speakers listed for the session are Xavi Munoz Bellvehí, Managing Partner ECIJA Barcelona; Camille Gonzálvez, TMT & iGaming Lawyer, ECIJA; and Josh Hodgson, COO, H2 Gambling Capital.
According to the organizers, topics will include a general regulatory update and market outlook for Spain, including “the latest regarding the DGOJ’s mandatory problem gambling detection algorithm and cross-operator deposit limits,” as well as “Prediction betting & existing Spanish iGaming licenses.”
Separately, the release cited an H2 Gambling Capital view on the potential impact of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Spain’s regulated sports betting market. “Applying these dynamics to Spain […] we expect the 2026 World Cup to generate in the region of €2bn of sports betting handle for Spanish licensed operators over the course of the tournament,” the release said, adding that on a gross gaming revenue basis the tournament could be “in the region of €135 m” for licensed operators.
The webinar is described as free to attend, with registration hosted via Zoom.
