From August 10 – 18, 16 top Counter-Strike (CS) teams will battle it out during Intel® Extreme Masters (IEM) Cologne 2024 for a share of the $1,000,000 prize pool, a win in the race to secure the Intel® Grand Slam V, and the coveted trophy. Today, we are thrilled to share with you the full lineup of teams competing in the celebratory event.

IEM tournaments are the pinnacle of esports competition for players worldwide and are at the heart of excitement for fans from around the globe. This year, we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary at the LANXESS arena as the final three days of IEM Cologne 2024 will once again take place in the iconic and packed-out arena in Cologne, Germany.

Also dubbed the Cathedral of Counter-Strike, the event’s significance lies in its long-lasting traditions and ability to consistently deliver legendary moments. This year, everyone is invited to go on a trip down memory lane and to experience the world’s best CS teams to-date playing CS2 for the first time on stage in Cologne.

Disguised Toast, S8UL Esports, and Riot Games are among the finalists revealed live on stream by on-air talent Trevor “Quickshot” Henry and host Jasmine “Veracity” Kanuga.

  • The summer ceremony, taking place at the end of the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, August 24th, will focus on the Entertainment and Creative categories. The Esports Awards will have a second ceremony in London at the end of the year to give a spotlight to the Pro categories.

The Esports Awards, the most prestigious night in the esports calendar, is excited to unveil the finalists for this year’s Riyadh ceremony. With voting now open for fifteen categories, including Esports Game of the Year, Streamer of the Year, and Esports Breakthrough Player of the Year, fans can expect the biggest ceremony yet. The main event, in partnership with the Esports World Cup, will conclude the tournament circuit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on August 24th.

The finalists were announced live across the Esports Awards broadcast platforms, including their Twitch.tv channel, presented by former LEC caster and seasoned on-air talent Trevor “Quickshot” Henry alongside esports host and interviewer Jasmine “Veracity” Kanuga.

This year’s Esports Awards will see the return of fan and industry favourite activities, including the Lifetime Achievement Award award, which celebrates individuals who have dedicated their professional lives to improving the industry. The Esports Awards Village and the Red Carpet event will be back as well, which in 2023 featured a Razer-customised 2024 Lexus TX and the iconic Glambot, capturing and creating memorable moments for fans and attendees alike.

This year, for the very first time, the Esports Awards has split its awarding ceremony into two separate events. The first ceremony will take place on August 24th as part of the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and the second ceremony will take place in London later this year. The second ceremony will feature a heavier focus on the Pro categories, picking up fan favourite awards such as Esports Player of the Year and Esports Team of the Year.

Global esports organisation Gen.G Esports has announced a partnership with LG U+. The partnership comes on the heels of the two companies’ first collaboration to celebrate the 2023 LoL World Championship. The two companies will work closely together to strengthen fandom and innovate the customer experience. As part of the partnership, Gen.G Esports’ League of Legends pro team will feature the LG U+’s logo on their jerseys during the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Summer season.

“We’re thrilled to be able to renew our partnership with LG U+ in such an innovative way. By leveraging all the data we’ve collected across our pro players and the thousands of students at the Gen.G Global Academy, we’re able to offer an even superior customer experience through our YOUR.GG data analytics platform to the millions of gamers that are customers of LG U+,” Arnold Hur, CEO of Gen.G Esports, said.

Through this partnership, the two companies will provide LG U+’s Uth members with a variety of members-only benefits, including a monthly subscription to Gen.G Crew and YOUR.GG player reports, to enrich their gaming experience.
