Kicking off the year strong: FACTORY-C brings industry expert Tom Achsel with extensive network and event experience to Home of Indies
FACTORY-C, the Berlin-based communications agency specializing in gaming and esports events, starts the new year with a key addition to its team. Industry expert Tom Achsel joined the Home of Indies team this month alongside initiator Christiane Gehrke, helping drive the project’s continued growth. With previous roles as Head of Marketing & Events at Games Academy and as co-founder and Head of Communication at Games Ground Berlin, Tom Achsel brings deep industry expertise to FACTORY-C, where he will apply his background in his role as Event Communications Manager.
“It’s great to have Tom on board. He knows the indie scene from multiple perspectives, brings a strong network, and has a sharp understanding of the needs of indie developers. Both professionally and personally, Tom is an excellent fit for our team and brings everything needed to support the continued development of Home of Indies,” says Christiane Gehrke, Senior Event Communication & Sales Manager at FACTORY-C.

“With Home of Indies, a platform has emerged that provides a strong stage for the indie scene. I’m excited to be part of the team and to contribute actively to Home of Indies’ future direction,” says Tom Achsel, Event Communications Manager at FACTORY-C.
Since 2022, FACTORY-C has offered independent game developers from around the world a shared booth at Gamescom under the Home of Indies banner, enabling them to present their games to a wide audience. Last year, Home of Indies showcased the diversity and creativity of the global indie development scene across 440 square meters, featuring more than 50 games from over a dozen countries.
Preparations for the upcoming Gamescom and additional events are already underway, with more updates on Home of Indies coming soon. More information is available at home-of-indies.com.
