Smarkets CEO Jason Trost takes over as new host of ‘Business of Betting’ podcast

Smarkets CEO/Founder Jason Trost has become the new host of the popular ‘Business of Betting’ podcast, replacing Jake Williams at the helm.

Williams, who works as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Operations at PointsBet, ran the podcast between 2017 and 2021, producing 170 episodes featuring interviews with influential characters from the betting industry.

In the first episode with Trost as host, he interviewed Williams about the growth of the podcast, why he decided it was time to pass on hosting duties, and several other industry topics.

Trost said: “Business of Betting was always one of my favourite industry podcasts, so taking the baton from Jake is a huge honour.

“I thought it would be a nice transition to have Jake on my first show, it was great chatting with him and I look forward to welcoming many more interesting guests in the future.”
