String of strong performances and Virtual Olympics qualification for esports squad as they continue to make waves in virtual motorsport sphere

YAS HEAT ESPORTS enjoyed its most successful month of racing to-date after a slew of head-turning results in May. Following the immensely popular Microsoft GP exhibition race – hosted by YAS HEAT earlier in the year – the team is continuing its upward trend and becoming ever-present in esports leagues across the globe.

In the Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC)-based series, Sim Grid Endurance Cup, YAS HEAT kicked off its title defence with a hard-fought podium, whilst running a bespoke partner livery for Richard Mille.

After qualifying on pole position – with an enviable margin of three tenths of a second – the squad came under pressure before the first round of pit stops, conceding the lead before contact with the third-place car opened up a gap, denying them the opportunity to fight for the victory. Nonetheless, the team most definitely showed that they will once again be fighting at the top of the table.

Meanwhile, the opening round of the Sim Grid x VCO World Cup – also being run on ACC – saw YAS HEAT finish as the highest placed McLaren 720s in P9, with another special edition livery on the car, this time in a vibrant yellow Pirelli colour scheme.

The following 24h race was cut short by an internet issue for the team in the final hour of running, fuelling the fire for the squad to come back stronger and fight for the championship in the remaining rounds.

In the world of Gran Turismo Sport, Angel Inostroza took part in a week-long qualifying event for the 2021 Virtual Olympics. From 4,000 competitors, just 16 have progressed to the first-ever esports inclusive Olympic Games, with YAS HEAT’s own Inostroza qualifying P5 and recording the fastest time from Central and South America.

The YAS HEAT iRacing line-up of Dean Woods, Balazs Remenyik, Joao Văz and Josh Lad are competing in the 2021 ISOWC IndyCar Championship. After two rounds, Vaz is currently the highest placed with P2 in the championship, following his third-place finish at Sebring with team-mate Lad not far behind in fourth.

Since its launch in 2020, YAS HEAT has continued its meteoric rise to the pinnacle of esports entering a total of 1168 races and achieving a win and podium rate of 42.21% and 67.30% respectively.

Saif Al-Noaimi, Team Principal, YAS HEAT said: “May was the best month yet for YAS HEAT. All of our teams and drivers are doing so well in the various titles we are competing in. We’re already establishing ourselves as a top-tier esports team and we haven’t celebrated our first anniversary yet.

“For one of our drivers to qualify for the Virtual Olympics is something we’re hugely proud of, and when you couple that with all of our recent successes on Assetto Corsa and iRacing, we’re definitely on an upward trend!

“I think the statistics speak for themselves. To have a win rate of over 40% and a podium rate of just under 70%, I can’t think of too many teams with those kinds of figures. I can’t wait to see how many more wins and podiums we can achieve before the end of our first year!”

  • BLAST Dota Slam Singapore to take place this November at Singapore Indoor Stadium in partnership with Singapore Tourism Board and AEG Presents Asia

  • The world’s best Dota teams will meet in Singapore from 4th – 9th November 2025 to compete for a prize pool of $1,000,000 at the first ever BLAST Slam arena event

Esports entertainment company BLAST has announced the return of its world-class events to Singapore with the BLAST Dota Slam Singapore, set to take place in November 2025 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, supported by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).

This announcement follows the sellout success of the BLAST Premier World Final 2024, which marked BLAST’s Southeast Asia debut and saw more than ten-thousand fans pack out the Resorts World Convention Centre to witness the world’s top Counter-Strike teams compete for the $1 million prize pool.

Building on that momentum, Singapore will now host the BLAST Dota Slam arena event, teaming up with AEG Presents Asia again to bring together the world’s best Dota teams to battle it out for $1,000,000 in front of a live audience and millions of fans tuning in globally across 50+ territories and in 12 languages.

The BLAST Dota Slam Singapore is the latest milestone in BLAST’s global expansion into Dota 2, and reinforces Singapore’s growing reputation as a premier destination for sports and live entertainment. It marks the second consecutive year the city-state has hosted a BLAST arena tournament, following the successful Counter-Strike event in 2024.

James Woollard, Director of Market Development at BLAST, said: “Singapore delivered one of the most passionate esports crowds we’ve ever seen during last year’s BLAST Premier World Final. We’re thrilled to be returning with our next major arena show – this time for Dota 2 – and to once again partner with the Singapore Tourism Board and AEG Presents Asia to help to further grow Southeast Asia’s esports ecosystem. The response to our events in Singapore has been incredible, and this November’s Dota Slam promises to be another landmark moment for fans and for the region. Singapore has an impressive history and pedigree for the biggest international sporting events, supported by STB, and BLAST is proud to be building on this with the biggest esports events.”

Ms Lilian Chee, Director, Sports, Singapore Tourism Board, said: “We are delighted to welcome BLAST back to Singapore, this time with the Dota Slam. Building on the success of the BLAST Premier World Final, this event further reinforces Singapore’s reputation as a world-class destination for sports and live entertainment. We look forward to welcoming the passionate fans, players and partners once again to our vibrant city.”

BLAST’s return to Singapore is set to shine a global spotlight on the city while delivering significant economic benefits and meaningful destination marketing. With an estimated economic impact in the tens of millions, the tournament further demonstrates how esports events are evolving into major cultural and economic drivers for host cities – on par with large-scale traditional international sporting events.

With Singapore, Rio, London, Austin, and Lyon among the major destinations on BLAST’s global calendar this year, it is evident that governments, cities and tourism bodies are recognising the power of esports to attract young and engaged visitors, create jobs, and drive international visibility.

The Rajasthan Youth Board (Youth Affairs & Sports Department, Government of Rajasthan), in collaboration with AA Gaming, has officially announced the Rajasthan State Esports Championship (RSEC) – a landmark state-level initiative poised to engage thousands of players from across the state.
The RSEC 2025 will feature top esports titles including Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), CS2, E-Cricket, and E-Football. Spanning over four stages, the championship aims to reach more than 200 colleges across 41 districts in Rajasthan, making it one of the most comprehensive esports tournaments at the state level in India.
The tournament will unfold in the following stages:
  • Open Qualifiers
  • Inter-College Knockout Rounds
  • Semifinals
  • Grand Finals – which will be live-streamed and culminate in a prestigious awards ceremony.
A core highlight of the RSEC 2025 will be a series of esports workshops, organized by AA Gaming during the inter-college knockout rounds held across Rajasthan. These workshops, in
collaboration with industry experts, are designed to educate and empower participants with essential knowledge and skills, positioning Rajasthan’s youth at the forefront of the rapidly growing esports industry.
Recognized now on global platforms like the Olympic Esports Series, the Asian Games, and the Commonwealth Esports Championship, esports has become a legitimate sporting and medal discipline. With this in mind, the RSEC workshops will cover:
  • Gaming techniques and strategic play
  • Game development fundamentals
  • Esports career pathways
  • Mental health and well-being for athletes
  • Team-building and communication
  • Professional conduct in esports
  • In-depth game analysis and review
Speaking about the RSEC, Dr. Neeraj Kumar Pawan (I.A.S) Chairman, Rajasthan Youth Board & Secretary, Youth Affairs & Sports Department, Government Of Rajasthan, said, “I extend my heartfelt best wishes for the upcoming Rajasthan State Esports Championship. As Rajasthan does not yet have an official esports federation, the Youth Affairs & Sports Department of Rajasthan has taken the initiative to support the esports ecosystem by joining hands with passionate youth, many of whom have come forward through the Youth Board. This championship marks a significant first step in promoting esports across the state, and I wholeheartedly commend the young leaders driving this movement.”
Commenting on the tournament, Akash Dhangar, Founder and CEO of AA Gaming, said:
“We are thrilled to partner with the Rajasthan Youth Board for the Rajasthan State Esports Championship — a one-of-a-kind initiative that not only empowers the youth through competitive esports, but also equips them with the knowledge and skills to thrive in this fast-growing industry. Through our comprehensive workshops, we aim to provide in-depth education on the key pillars of the esports ecosystem, enabling Rajasthan’s youth to emerge as innovators and leaders in the gaming and esports space.”
These sessions aim to develop well-rounded esports professionals — from players aiming for international glory to those exploring careers in game development, casting, management, and more.
The Rajasthan State Esports Championship is a pioneering initiative by the Government of Rajasthan to integrate esports into the mainstream sporting ecosystem and harness the power of gaming to inspire, educate, and uplift the state’s youth.
With RSEC 2025, Rajasthan is set to lead by example, creating a blueprint for how regional governments can support and grow the esports ecosystem from the grassroots.
