BonusFinder granted Michigan licence
With online sports betting coming to Michigan imminently, local gambling fans will be delighted to learn that BonusFinder.com has been granted an affiliate licence for the US state.
The move could not have been timed better, with sports betting on the verge of being made legal either by the end of 2020 or early in the new year. And with upwards of 10million people living in the state, Michigan has the potential to be a significant online gaming market.
BonusFinder managing director Fintan Costello explained what the new licence means for players: “We are now legally allowed to operate in the state, which means that once sportsbooks start launching, BonusFinder can list them on the site, write reviews and provide the people of Michigan with the best bonus codes for the sites that are due to launch.”
Michigan sportsbook licence applications were invited in summer 2020, open to commercial land-based casinos and tribes within the state. Following this announcement, many of the world’s leading online sportsbook and gaming suppliers entered into agreements with Michigan casinos, including Kambi with the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi, Rush Street Interactive with the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians/Little River Casino, and DraftKings with Bay Mills Casino.
Costello was also enthusiastic about the ease of the licensing process. He said: “It was a relatively straightforward process compared to some other states, so we are very grateful for the Michigan Gaming Control Board – the whole process took a little over two months.”
The latest licence comes after a big year for the company, who have already been granted permission to bring BonusFinder to players in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana, West Virginia, Colorado, Tennessee, and Illinois.
Michigan is home to 24 tribal casinos under 12 tribal compacts, while Detroit has three further casinos; the 27 casinos generated a combined £2.87bn in revenue in 2019.
The freshly-minted online gaming and sportsbook regulations have arrived with a competitive tax rate for casinos, so analysts expect Michigan to be a major market. Figures in the region of $650m in revenue for the first year have been touted in some corners, which would generate significant tax revenue.

44 New Brands Growth in Q1’25: Affilka by SOFTSWISS Results

Affilka by SOFTSWISS reports its business performance in Q1 2025, continuing its steady growth as one of the industry’s leading affiliate marketing platforms.
The first quarter of the year marked a period of significant achievements for Affilka by SOFTSWISS. In January, it was named Affiliate Company of the Year at the International Gaming Awards 2025, highlighting its growing recognition in the industry.
In the first three months of 2025, 44 new brands joined the Affilka platform, bringing the total number to over 450 brands. During the same period, affiliate GGR rose by 2.7%, the number of visits increased by 3.1%, and affiliate payments grew by 13.2% compared to Q4 2024. Overall, Affilka now supports over 400 thousand affiliate accounts (+23.1% vs Q4 2024) and tracks more than 98 million registered players, up from 87 million in Q4 2024.
Alongside its financial gains, Affilka maintains an active pace of product development. The team is now preparing to release a new feature: Cross-Brand Player Duplicate Detection. It will enable operators to detect identical player accounts across multiple brands within a single affiliate program. The tool will allow operators to optimise their marketing costs and improve traffic quality.
The innovation is the third major update released by Affilka in the last six months. Earlier, the platform introduced the Geo-Distributed Redirect feature, which reduces user redirect times by fivefold and boosts player conversion. The most recent tool, the Cohort Analysis Report, enables operators to track and evaluate player behaviour more effectively.
“Affiliate marketing is evolving fast, and Affilka evolves with it,” says Anastasia Borovaya, Head of Affilka by SOFTSWISS. “We’re focused on helping our partners meet emerging challenges – whether that means offering new ways to analyse player behaviour, refine traffic strategy, or cut costs without losing efficiency. The Cross-Brand Duplicate Detection tool is one more example of how we turn real-world operator needs into functional, high-impact solutions.”
Anastasia Borovaya recently participated as a guest lecturer at the Academy of Gaming Operations, where she led a session on the Affiliate Management course. She is expected to return to teach the course again in the second half of 2025.

Live Casino Comparer is a well-established review portal focused on the live dealer niche. It was founded in 2014, and its team brings more than 30 years of casino experience to every review it publishes.
The site’s founder, Neil Walker, will stay on both as an advisor and an active part of the content team, helping to scale Live Casino Comparer’s output across both the B2C and B2B verticals.
Already Media will also rebuild the site’s platform and has plans to enter into new geos and content formats.
The deal was brokered by Corfai, the specialist M&A advisory founded by Ben Robinson.
