eGaming Integrity launches Independent Safer Gambling Audit Service
An independent assurance option for operators as established safer gambling certification schemes wind down
eGaming Integrity – a leading compliance and internal audit advisory firm – today announced the launch of its Safer Gambling Audit Service, a new independent assessment designed to provide operators with clear, evidence-based assurance aligned with the UK Gambling Commission’s Social Responsibility and Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice requirements.
Developed as a structured audit rather than a high-level review, the service examines how safer gambling works in practice across customer interactions, financial vulnerability checks, governance oversight and internal monitoring.
It is designed to give operators a clear, honest view of whether controls are working as intended, where gaps exist, and where improvements are needed.
The audit is carried out by experienced practitioners who have worked directly in internal audit, risk and regulatory compliance roles. It includes an initial evidence review, focused fieldwork and a written report setting out what is working, where weaknesses sit and what needs to change.
Robert Penfold, Head of Internal Audit at eGaming Integrity, said: “Businesses are operating in a regulatory environment that demands clarity, consistency and credible assurance. Our Safer Gambling Audit provides an independent view of how well safer gambling controls are functioning in practice. It gives Boards the information they need to exercise effective oversight. The service has been designed to be practical, proportionate and aligned with the UKGC’s expectations.”
The introduction of the Safer Gambling Audit Service builds on eGaming Integrity’s wider commitment to supporting operators to maintain strong, resilient compliance frameworks. Alongside the new service, eGaming Integrity also works with operators on mock regulatory assessments, remediation support, internal audit and training. Together, these form a broader assurance and risk-focused offer.
The launch follows increasing demand from operators seeking a more structured and transparent way to demonstrate governance over safer gambling obligations. Regulatory expectations around safer gambling are increasing. At the same time, third-party certification schemes, including GamCare’s Safer Gambling Standard, are nearing the end of their current delivery timelines. In response, eGaming Integrity is among the first providers to bring a fully audit-led safer gambling assurance service to market.
As focus from investors, regulators and stakeholders intensifies around risk management and customer protection, independent assurance is playing a central role in how organisations evidence accountability.
Robert Penfold will be part of the eGaming Integrity team attending ICE in Barcelona from January 19 to 21. To book a meeting, email: [email protected]
