Donaco Updates Coronavirus Impact on its Business
Donaco International has provided an update on the impact of coronavirus on the business operations at its Star Vegas hotel, located on the border of Cambodia and Thailand.
The Thailand Government has closed the border crossing from Thailand to Poipet for 14 days. In response, Donaco has decided to close most of the Star Vegas Hotel with only minimal operations ongoing. Star Vegas also arranged unpaid leave for many staff members in March and April.
A total of 53,463 players visited the casino during the first 22 days of March, down 15% from February. Rolling chip turnover was down 9% compared to February.
“The Board and Management is closely monitoring the situation, with the safety of both our visitors and staff foremost in our mind. We are taking proactive measures to ensure a safe operating environment, as well as controlling expenditure,” Donaco said.
