Betfred Acquires MoPlay’s UK and Ireland Customer Database
UK gambling operator Betfred has won the bid to acquire Moplay’s UK and Ireland customer database.
Moplay customers in the UK and Ireland reported that they received emails indicating that the balances in their accounts on the now-defunct site would be honoured by rival Betfred.
Moplay suspended its operations last month after the UK and Gibraltar gambling regulators revoked the license of its parent company Addison Global because of the concerns over the company’s financial resources. The site had initially allowed users to withdraw their account balances but then stopped the withdrawal due to financial difficulties.
Following that, Gibraltar courts appointed a liquidator to handle Addison Global’s assets, including its player database.
