Soft2Bet releases MEGA Shoot to support World Cup player retention

New football-themed MEGA engine brings player-versus-player simulation penalty shootouts to selected Soft2Bet brands, with early data showing 13.5% retention uplift.

Soft2Bet has released MEGA Shoot, a new football-themed gamification engine created for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to help sportsbook operators keep players active throughout the tournament. MEGA Shoot will be available across selected Soft2Bet brands such as Betinia, Swiper, Campobet, ToonieBet, Elabet including those in Denmark, Greece, Mexico, New Jersey, Ontario, Romania, and the rest of Canada.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the largest edition to date, with 48 teams and 104 matches across Canada, Mexico and the United States. Some estimates suggest US wagering on the tournament could surpass Super Bowl wagering, giving operators a longer period of football-led betting activity across the event.

MEGA Shoot is built around a best-of-five penalty shootout. Players will test their skills from the penalty spot, alternating between striker and goalkeeper to score goals and make match-winning saves. The striker chooses where to shoot, while the goalkeeper chooses where to defend. Each round is shown as a goal or a save before players switch roles and continue the series.

How It Works | MEGA Shoot

Early internal data shows 31.9% game engagement among active players across selected brands, with 71.2% of MEGA Shoot players going on to play a second match.

Yoel Zuckerberg, Chief Product Officer at Soft2Bet, said: “The World Cup runs from 11 June to 19 July, so retention has to work across the full tournament calendar. MEGA Shoot gives operators a football game that players can understand quickly, with head-to-head competition tied to the sport they already follow. With almost 32% engagement among active players and about 71% converting into a second match, the early data shows how tournament-led gamification can strengthen sportsbook engagement during major football events.”

The launch of MEGA Shoot adds one more football-focused engine to Soft2Bet’s MEGA portfolio, giving operators a tournament-specific way to support retention alongside sportsbook activity. For players, the format is direct and familiar. They choose where to shoot, take their turn in goal and continue the shootout.
