Bacta Commends Members for Support of Safer Gambling Week

Bacta has praised its members for contributing to what Executive Director George McGregor described as being “another hugely successful Safer Gambling Week (SGW)”.

Organised by the Betting and Gaming Council, Bacta and the Bingo Association, SGW saw a blitz of messages designed to spark a nationwide conversation about safer gambling and highlighting the tools that are available to help consumers stay in control including the provision of help and advice to those who need it.

George McGregor noted: “Although the full set of metrics in terms of the number of deposit limits set during the week and the number of social media impressions are still being evaluated, I am delighted that so many Bacta members played a full and active role in helping to raise awareness in-venue and throughout their organisations.”

He added: “Safer Gambling is what Bacta members practice 365 days a year and Safer Gambling Week helps to raise awareness amongst consumers and complements the hands-on initiatives run by operators.

“In addition, I am delighted that such a wide range of cross-party Parliamentarians, including Ministers and Shadow Ministers came out to support Safer Gambling Week helping to reinforce Bacta’s political engagement programme.”
