Crown Resorts announced that it has appointed senior executives to key leadership roles within the business.

Mr David Tsai, most recently CEO of Crown Perth, has been appointed President & Group Chief Operating Officer of the integrated resort and entertainment group, effective 1 August 2024. Mr Tsai will be responsible for ensuring operational effectiveness and efficiency and the highest standards of guest experience across our Australian resorts and will continue to report to Group CEO Mr Ciarán Carruthers. Mr Brian Pereira, currently CFO of Crown Perth, will become interim CEO (subject to regulatory approval) while a global search is conducted.

Mr Stanford Le has been appointed CEO of Crown Sydney (subject to regulatory approvals) following Mr Mark McWhinnie’s decision to retire. Mr Le has extensive global integrated resort experience including shaping strategies for Fortune 500 casino companies such as Wynn Resorts, Las Vegas Sands and Caesars Entertainment. Mr Le is currently President and CEO of Snoqualmie Casino group based in Seattle. Mr McWhinnie will remain with the business until Mr Le commences in Sydney in the coming months.

Ms Gemma Allman will lead the group’s Government Affairs team as Chief Government Relations Officer. Ms Allman is Australian and has spent 16 years at ExxonMobil, with the last 12 years in the US, spearheading the company’s global public & government affairs functions. She will be based in Melbourne.

Ms Nicole Pelchen will join as Chief Technology Officer. Ms Pelchen brings more than 25 years of experience including most recently as Chief Technology Officer for MUFG Pension & Market Services and Chief Information Officer – Retail and Commercial for ANZ Bank. She will be based in Melbourne.

Ms Louise Tebbutt commences as Chief People & Culture Officer, joining from Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, where she has been Chief People Officer for over five years. Previously Louise held similar executive positions at both Myer and Coles, bringing expertise from large-scale listed companies. She will be based in Melbourne.

Mr Carruthers said: “I am delighted to announce David’s expanded role as President & Group Chief Operating Officer and to welcome four new veterans in their respective industries – who bring global perspectives and experiences – to Crown Resorts. Stanford, Gemma, Louise and Nicole will be terrific additions to the team at an important time of transformation for the business.

“I would like to thank Mark McWhinnie for his significant efforts leading our extensive reform and remediation program in Sydney over the past three years, which culminated in the regulator finding Crown suitable to operate in NSW. Mark’s leadership has been instrumental in evolving our business and we look forward to continuing that focus under Stanford as the new Crown Sydney CEO.”

Mr Le and Ms Allman will commence in their new roles in October, Ms Tebbutt commences in September, while Ms Pelchen will commence on August 12.
