Danish Gambling Authority director to headline Gaming in the Nordics launch in Copenhagen
Gaming in the Nordics is set to hold its launch event on Thursday, June 18, 2026 in Copenhagen, with Anders Dorph, Director of the Danish Gambling Authority, confirmed as the headline speaker, according to the organizers.
The event will take place at Better Collective HQ and will bring together decision makers from the regulated, or soon-to-be-regulated, iGaming markets in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Norway. Gaming in the Nordics is a new initiative from Gaming in Europe, which runs the Gaming in Holland, Gaming in Germany, and Gaming in Spain conferences.
Other confirmed speakers include Pontus Lindwall, CEO of Betsson; Jesper Søgaard, Co-Founder & Co-CEO of Better Collective; Morten Ronde, CEO of the Danish Online Gambling Association (DOGA); Fredrik Stenstrøm, Secretary General of the Norway Association for Online Gaming (NBO); Pekka Ilmivalta, Head of Office at Nordic Legal – Finland; Birgitte Sand, CEO of Birgitte Sand & Associates; Josh Hodgson, COO of H2 Gambling Capital; and Peter-Paul de Goeij, Managing Consultant at QuodBonum.se, who will serve as day chair.
Gaming in the Nordics founder Willem van Oort said: “We are extremely pleased that Mr. Anders Dorph has agreed to speak at the Gaming in the Nordics launch event. In my experience, it is always good to able to facilitate a dialogue between regulatory authorities and the industry – which in this case will be very capably represented by Betsson’s Mr. Pontus Lindwall, as well as several leading trade bodies. Although the Nordic markets are in varying states of regulation and market maturity, there nonetheless exist certain commonalities, which together provide a solid basis for the fruitful exchange of lessons learned and best practices.”
Organizers said the 2026 launch is a small, half-day conference with limited attendee capacity and that a full-size annual Gaming in the Nordics conference will be held in Copenhagen each June starting in 2027. Key sessions will be recorded and shared with members of the Gaming in the Nordics community, according to the organizers.
