Online Gambling Revenue Soars in Sweden in 2019
Spelinspektionen, the Swedish Gambling Authority, reports that licensed land-based and online gambling operators generated a robust revenue of €2.3 billion in 2019.
Online gambling and gambling on ships are the leading revenue generators, registering €1.3 billion turnover. Lottery and vending machines recorded €557 million.
These figures are purely from licensed operators, but Spelinspektionen also warned about the impact of unlicensed companies.
The authority explained that it has no official information, but works around analysts’ estimates.
